The Rack
There is a growing population of homeless and/or hungry students on college campuses in the United States. Recognizing the need to combat this crisis, West Virginia University has developed a student food pantry known as The WVU Rack. Students are welcome to come to the Student Organization Office to visit The Rack and take what they need. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to come by and help stock The Rack when possible to help keep our students nourished.
The Rack was implemented in the fall of 2010. The goal of the program is to assist hungry and/or homeless students through the charitable efforts of the Greek community. The Greek houses hold canned food drives during events such as Homecoming and Greek Week to help stock the pantry. Any and all overstock from food drives is stored separately to ensure that the rack will always be an option for hungry students. For more information please visit: http://sos.wvu.edu/
