Position Overview:

WECAN, WVU Environmental Conservation Awareness Now, is a collaborative university effort committed to ensuring a more sustainable future for WVU students, faculty, staff, and for the citizens of West Virginia. The Purchasing internship program offers students the ability to gain and utilize skills in sustainable purchasing across the West Virginia University campuses.

Primary Functions:

• Conduct an analysis and inventory sustainable purchasing contracts
• Research relevant case studies, certificates, benchmarks, and best practices
• Perform data analysis, as needed
• Assess manufacturing/production processes using a lifecycle-based approach
• Communicate with university departments, WVU vendors, and industry as applicable
• Assist with education and outreach initiatives
• Update and maintain a sustainability product profile
• Other duties as assigned
