Mountaineers Recycle Program
In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority, WE CAN participates in the Mountaineers Recycle Program in which volunteers distribute recycling kits to fans and tailgaters in the parking lots outside the WVU football stadium. The recycling kits provide enough recycling bags for the entire season in which fans can place their empty aluminum cans and plastic bottles. All recycling proceeds benefit WVU Children’s Hospital. Volunteers meet four hours prior to the start of each game and finish right before kickoff. Each volunteer receives a free T-shirt for participation.
